Extimità

2016

In every reality there is a border that marks the conflicted relation between inside and outside. Inside and outside draw close to one another and apparently ignore one another; their contact is at the same time a separation. “There is thus the interior of the body and the exterior of the world”; the border falls when the relation opens into dialogue and takes shape as a single body. Extimità is the subject’s relation to its own structure, the attempt at and the will towards dialogue between inner and outer world, an opening and a dismantling of the border in the service of a deeper knowledge of the self: the dialectising of intimacy as inner essence and as relation with the other
