Segni di vita
2024
The work belongs to the series Segni di vita and takes shape from the wish to give a voice to the invisible, to those fragments of nature that brush past us in silence, the slight signs of life. Among them the shell, chosen as a symbol, is an architecture of protection and rebirth, a primordial and poetic form, a keeper of time. Emerging from the dark, crossed by a light that reveals it, it becomes a vital sign. Not an object but a threshold — the shell is a bridge between the submerged world and the visible surface. In the work it rises out of the darkness, as though called up by a sacred light, disclosing its own existence in a glow that is not only visual but inward. Light thus becomes a gesture of awareness, an act of recognition, an invitation to stop and see. Light does not illuminate matter alone; it wakes the gaze, asking us to recognise what we usually overlook. In its fragile balance the shell speaks to us of hidden ecosystems, of deep connections, of presence. In the contrast between the fragility of the form and the density of the space around it, a reflection opens on our relation to the everyday invisible, to the small lives we brush past without noticing. That fragile architecture reflects the idea of an interconnected cosmos in which every existence has a poetry of its own. The work is not only a celebration of natural beauty but also an act of responsibility: to recognise the value of what lives quietly beside us. It reminds us that care is born of attentive looking, and that every light that falls on what we overlook is a step towards a deeper awareness of our being in the world.
